The Gift of Rest

Scripture: “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” — Matthew 11:28-30

Devotional: We live in a world that tells us we must always be busy to be successful. By the middle of the year, many of us feel completely exhausted. God does not demand that you run yourself into the ground. Instead, He invites you to rest. True rest means stopping your worried striving and trusting that God is taking care of you. You do not have to carry the weight of the world today. It is okay to pause.

Prayer: Jesus, I bring my tired mind and body to You. Teach me how to rest in Your love and trust You with the things I cannot control. Amen.
