Scripture: “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.” — Jeremiah 17:7-8

Devotional: As the summer weather gets hotter, surface water on the ground dries up. Trees survive this heat because their roots grow deep into the ground to find hidden water. The same thing happens in our lives. If our faith is only on the surface, we get stressed out as soon as life gets tough. To stay calm and strong, we need to dig our roots deep into God by talking to Him and reading His words every day.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to anchor my life in You today. When things around me get stressful, let my heart find peace in Your deep love. Amen.
