OUR STORY

Where did this church come from? Who are we and where are we going?

It all began when the people who started the Filipino Christian Church here in Barcelona were touched by the power of the Holy Spirit through hearing and reading the Living Word of God, knowing Him, and following Jesus Christ in their lives.

All of these encounter happened in Oslo when we were reached out (many times) and eventually decided to attend Sunday service, got involved in lifeline groups and became a member of the church family and joined ministries.

We moved here in Barcelona carrying the calling from the book of Matthew 28:19-20

¹⁹ Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, ²⁰ and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the end of the age.

We, as His followers, are called to make disciples to all nations. With this passion and desire, we are so eager to share the good news and the freedom and the salvation we receive from Jesus Christ.

We came here around August and September of 2015.
We started meeting each other, attended Sunday services in other congregation and then do the lifeline after.
We did that for four months, then by January of 2016 we decided to rent a place to start a Sunday Service via FCC Oslo (our mother church) live stream with 5 to 10 people.
During our initial days, we prayed for more people to help us and become part of the church family to launch the great commission of Jesus through us.

(To make the long story short) Summer of 2016 God answered our prayers of having more members. People came and came which lead us to move to another place.
Indeed God is working for those who are willing to be used by Him and who have been called according to His purpose.

When God put the desire into our hearts to share the Gospel, He directs His ways on us. We are like a child who is looking forward to live his life while at the same time there is the father watching him, reminding him, guiding and leading him, rebukes and disciplines him along the way.

We, as church, are called according to His purpose.
We will boldly seek God to have deeper connection and intimate relationship with Him in order for us to reach and bring more souls to eternity.

We aim that from one encounter with Jesus, many will encounter Him.
From one act of kindness, many will be blessed.
From one heart who love, many will be reconciled.
From one act of repentance, many will receive forgiveness.
And from one who accepts and declares Jesus is Lord and savior, many will be freed and receive salvation to live life in eternity.

This will only happen if we fearlessly declare to commit ourselves in making God our first priority. To repent from all our sins so God may display His power and manifests His love to all the nations. To allow ourselves to be align in Him, obey and follow His command, submit into His instruction as our respond to His discipline and guidance as we continually grow spiritually by the power of the Holy Spirit in the name Of Jesus Christ our Lord, our Savior.

Since 2015 until these days, our journey wasn’t all smooth. There are challenges and trials and testings of faith as a believer and a follower of Christ. We are continuously being mold into becoming a disciple called to make disciples who makes disciples. Despite of it all, God is still faithful and just of His promise to not leave us nor forsake us.

Indeed this Church is like the LIGHT of the world, like a town that is built on a hill and cannot be hidden. (FIRST ANNIVERSARY)
Being established in a ROOTED foundation of how long and wide and high and deep is the love of Christ in us. (SECOND ANNIVERSARY)
Grasping the knowledge that God can pour graciously his BOUNDLESS blessings throughout all generations. (THIRD ANNIVERSARY)
Confident that we can always ARISE from the battles we encounter and keep the light of God shining within us (FOURTH ANNIVERSARY)
Giving God all the honor and glory through our FEARLESS testimonies of how great our wonderful father is. (FIFTH ANNIVERSARY)
