Luke 16:9 NIV
I tell you, use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings.
In this parable, Jesus did not encourage dishonesty but rather being wise in using our wealth ( money, assets ).
As Christians, we should use our earthly resources for eternal and godly purposes. By means of serving and giving generously for the advancement of God’s Kingdom.
In Matthew 6:20 NIV
But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
Let us use our resources to ” gained friends.” To bless others who then represent a positive witness of your good stewardship before God in eternity. By doing so, you store up heavenly treasure, and God welcomes you when earthly life ends.
How many people’s lives have been touched and changed by your generosity?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, Creator of Heaven and Earth. Our Faithful and Great provider.
Thank you, Lord, for giving us the strength and wisdom so that we will be able to produce wealth.
Help us not to become greedy but to be a good steward of all the blessings that you have given to us by serving and giving for the expansion of your Kingdom here on earth. In Jesus’s name. AMEN
