“I plead with Euodia and I plead with Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord.”
Philippians 4:2
Paul lovingly calls out two women not to shame them, but to restore unity. Their disagreement had become noticeable, yet Paul reminds them (and us) that true agreement doesn’t come from winning arguments, but from being of the same mind in the Lord.
Disagreements are part of life, even among believers. But when pride, hurt, or misunderstanding takes over, unity suffers.
This verse teaches us that unity is not about sameness of opinion, it’s about shared devotion to Christ.
When we fix our eyes on Jesus, our hearts soften, humility grows, and reconciliation becomes possible.
Reflection:
Is there someone the Lord is prompting you to reconcile with today? What would it look like to choose unity over being right?
Prayer:
Lord, search my heart. If there is division, pride, or unresolved conflict within me, help me surrender it to You. Teach me to pursue peace and unity, not for my sake, but for Your glory. Align my heart with Yours. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Restore Unity
