1 Kings 17:13-15
However, Elijah said to her, “Do not fear; go, do as you have said. Just make me a little bread loaf from it first and bring it out to me, and afterward , you may make one for yourself and for your son. For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel says: ‘The bowl of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil become empty, until the day that the Lord provides rain on the face of the earth.’ ” So she went and did everything in accordance with the word of Elijah, and she and he and her household ate for many days.

Reflections:

The widow didn’t think that there is hope in their situation as she said that they would eat on the little food that they had and died ( verse 12) .

But that is not what happened to them. Because God is good, and He  knows when to provide and save. 

Maybe you have the same situation with the widow in Zarephath,right now. And you think God didn’t see it. Remember this, everything in heaven and on this earth are  from God and if He allow the sun to rise to the evil one ( Matthew 5:45 ), how much more God will pour out his grace and provision to the one who believes and obeys Him.

This is the testimony that is in the midst of life and death situation. Only God’s love will save us.

In the same way for our eternal life. God sent his only Son Jesus Christ for us to be saved  through faith in Him.

John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.

If God can fill empty bottles and bring them to overflow. He can also fill in your heart’s  emptiness with his great love through his Son Jesus.  Only believe and trust Him. And the joy of Salvation will  overflow within.
