1 Kings 8:24
You who have kept with Your servant, my father David, that which You promised him; You have spoken with Your mouth and have fulfilled it with Your hand, as it is this day.
Reflections:
Have you heard a saying ” promises are made to be broken “? This is a popular expression in the 19th century, which indicate that promises are not always kept and that breaking them is a common result.
At some point, this ” expression ” became a reality to many. And because we can not keep our words, we experience brokenness in relationship and commitment towards others. That is why we are being reminded not to make vows or promises. ( Ecclesiastes 5:4-5, James 5:12 )
But God, our Father who is in heaven, is a promise keeper. He always fulfills what he speak. In the time of King David’s life, God’s faithfulness was seen. He kept his covenant that David’s lineage would last, and his son Solomon would build the temple.
Even Joshua said that not one word of all the good words which the Lord God has spoken to them has failed; they all have been fulfilled for them, not one of them has failed. ( Joshua 23:14 )
God promised us eternal life through his Son Jesus. Those who confess in their mouth, ” Jesus is Lord,” and believe in their heart that God raised him from the dead, they will be saved.
If God said something to you through his words. Have faith that He will fulfill it in his perfect time.
2 Corinthians 1:20
For as many as the promises of God are, in Him, they are yes; therefore, through Him also is our Amen to the glory of God through us.
Praise God for his faithfulness.
