Nehemiah 5:14-16 CSB
Furthermore, from the day King Artaxerxes appointed me to be their governor in the land of Judah — from the twentieth year until his thirty-second year, twelve years — I and my associates never ate from the food allotted to the governor.
The governors who preceded me had heavily burdened the people, taking from them food and wine as well as a pound of silver. Their subordinates also oppressed the people, but because of the fear of God, I didn’t do this.
Instead, I devoted myself to the construction of this wall, and all my subordinates were gathered there for the work. We didn’t buy any land.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, Heaven and Earth are yours, oh God. You are Holy and Perfect. Just and righteous in everything that you do.
We humbly come before you with a repentant heart and mind that focuses on you.
Lord God, thank you for sustaining us throughout the week. Your provision is in perfect timing. Your healing and miracles prove that you are our Almighty God.
By sending Jesus, your only begotten Son. Who died and raised from the dead. We are forgiven and have eternal life. Thank you,God.
Today, I pray for an honest and smooth government election in every place where it holds. Protect and guide every honest worker who will assist the election.
I pray that you will raise godly people like Nehemiah , who feared You.
A person who is compassionate and honest. A person who serves for the good of the country and for the people. A person who follows your ways, Lord God.
I lift up to you all the government workers who are currently serving in their terms. Who serves faithfully. May you continue to guide, protect, and provide for them. And to those who are not, I pray that you will encounter them in a personal way.
Thank you, Lord God.
Yours is the kingdom, the power and glory. Forever and ever.
In Jesus’s name. AMEN
