2 Corinthians 5:10 NASB1995
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.
Accountability is good in biblical teaching. It is very important to our spiritual growth and fellowship with God. Scripture tells us that we are accountable to the Lord and also to others.
Godly accountable provides a wise set of checks and balances.
Apostle Paul was the preeminent apostle of his day, yet he submitted and practiced accountability among other leaders in the faith.
Being saved and forgiven from all our sins through Christ Jesus does not exempt us from personal responsibility. We are still responsible for our actions. Knowing that we must one day answer to God should be a powerful incentive for holiness and obedience.
Today, let us be reminded that though we are free in Christ, we are a bondservant of Christ.
So then, let us live by the Spirit and not gratify the desires of flesh. ( Galatians 5:16 )
