1 Kings 19:5 ICB
[5] Then Elijah lay down under the tree and slept. Suddenly an angel came to him and touched him. The angel said, “Get up and eat.”
I believe all of us wanted to succeed in everything that we do. We wanted to enjoy life as much as we could. But sometimes, due to the situation that we don’t like, our if we are tired and have enough of everything,we choose to give up. We choose to stop doing good and become good.
And maybe that is what prophet Elijah felt at some point in his life. He was scared and had enough from stiff-necked people of Israel that he wanted to die. Allowing God’s calling for Him to fall apart.
As Christian today, there are moments of truth in our life that we experienced tired and had enough from situations and people. We come across the idea and emotions of giving up God’s calling for us or becoming numb and choosing to isolate ourselves from others.
We feel that there’s no hope for others and for ourselves to overcome such situations. We tend to do things that compromise our Christian walk.
But we all know that it is a lie because with our God, nothing is too hard for him ( Jeremiah 32:17), and no one can against Him. That all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28)
So that when Elijah was in the valleys of fear, tired and wanted to give up. God is with Him. God graciously comforted him , understood him, and fed him so that He would regain his strength and able to continue to meet the Lord and be ready to face the world again.
Today, we may be reminded that God is graciously being there for you and me. Whether we are in the moments of emotional turmoil and we want to let go of him. He will not let go of us because he loves us and no one can separate us from his love ( Romans 8:31-39 ) and he want us to succeed in the calling that he entrusted to us.
Like Elijah, have an open heart before the Lord, cry, pray, and seek Him. He will speak to you and renew you.
God is here. You’re not alone.
