Rejoice in our weaknesses

2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV
[9] But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

I believe getting sick is what most people worry about or  scared of. Especially us, who  are far from our family.  Even though  we take good care of our body, we can’t avoid sickness. And we Christians, not exempted  of it.

As we  look back in the life of King Hezekiah, he was sick and even told to die. But when he prayed, the Lord heard his prayer and seen his tears. So the Lord healed him. This was also my experienced when I had a sudden chest pain and couldn’t breath well but when  I prayed to God, it was healed. But in the case of Apostle Paul, the  Lord didn’t remove or healed Him. (2 Corinthians 12:7-8 NIV ). Not because God can’t do it but to show his glorious grace in his weakness.

Our sickness and circumstances have many reasons and purposes. Like Apostle Paul, he had it for him not to become proud. As for us today,  when we present our weaknesses to Jesus, trust and believe that we will see and experience his  overflowing grace that works in us, in healing like King Hezekiah or  rejoiicing in  suffering like Apostle Paul.  Why? because God loves us. In every weakness or sickness, I do believe that is not to forsake us but to mold us to become mature in faith and to be humble.

Apostle Peter says in 1 Peter 1:6-7 NIV [6] In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. [7] These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

As we suffer with Christ, we may be also glorified with him and receive the crown of life.

Glory and honor belong to the one true God.  In Jesus’s name, Amen
