Isaiah 29:13 NIV
[13] The Lord says: “These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is based on merely human rules they have been taught.

– This is the prophecy of  Isaiah to the people of Israel before Jesus.  And in Jesus’ time on earth, he mentioned it again in Matthew 15:8 NIV
[8]  “ ‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me

As I understand, this passage was not meant to be condemned or to harm the people of God. But to help them  recognize the status of their heart towards God and towards others.  The Lord  Jesus at this time  reminded them once again what true worship is. That it is not how we look on the outside or do things religiously but how we obey the Lord through his words. Who governs our mind and heart? Is it the word of  God or rules on this earth?

Many people today say they know Jesus but didn’t honor Him. Many people today  say they have a relationship with Jesus but live a worldly life. This is the reality  that no one can deny, even the past holds it.
There are so many things in this world that can  sway us to worship other gods and not the One true God.

But today, let us not feel rebuke or condemn but instead be grateful that the Lord is always there to remind, guide, search our hearts, and lead us to his way of true worship. And take time to reflect our ways in life.
Let us come with a humble heart and give our praises to the one who is worthy of all. And that Jesus


Prayer:
Heavenly Father, full of mercy and grace.
Thank you that you love us with  everlasting  love
Thank you that  you are the way,the truth, and the life.
Thank you that in our weakness, you are our strength.
Help us, oh Lord, to live a life that demonstrates your holiness and love.
