Do Not Be Boastful

‭Proverbs 11:2 ERV‬

[2] Proud and boastful people will be shamed, but wisdom stays with those who are modest and humble.

Reflection: Why boast when we are just a piece of the earth? This makes me see how small I am when I am swimming at the beach. Indeed, we really cannot be proud of something, for we are just a part of it. Anytime, anywhere, the sea and the ground can swallow us.

Prayer:

Dear God,

We praise you for your greatness and wonders. Thank you for letting us experience and see it, God. But, make us humble, knowing that everything we have is not from us but through you, oh God. Forgive us if we boast about things we don’t even own, including the life we have. Help us to appreciate and be grateful even for the smallest things we have. This we ask in Jesus’ name. Amen!
