The main point of prayer is simply to pray.
And when we do, the amazing power of heaven starts working to make a difference in our lives.
The thing is, sometimes, we tend to doubt the power of our prayers because of our disbelief or our feeling of unworthiness.
But if our prayers were based on how deserving we are, they would never be answered – they wouldn’t even be heard. But because of the righteousness of Christ, they are.
Sometimes we think we can manipulate God’s will to suit our own, and we mistake it for faith. But what if instead of forcing our plans, we should trust in His bigger, better ones?
Instead of expecting God to change His all-powerful heart, we should humbly ask Him to change ours. By approaching prayer with this mindset, we can truly experience the transformative power of His love and grace.
🙏
Thank you, God, for all the prayers You have answered in the way I prayed that it would.
Thank you, God, for the prayers I prayed which I forgot all about; but You did not, and in Your lovingkindness, You answered them anyway.
Thank you, God, for the prayers You didn’t answer the way I prayed You would. But you know, oftentimes, I am relieved to think of how
some things in my life may have turned out if You had. So, thank you.
And in the mystery of Your perfect timing and even in the confusion where I do not understand certain things the way they are, please let me know that You are God and You are good.
And God, thank you for ‘prayer’ and the chance that we can get to talk to you whenever we want to. Through Jesus Christ, your son, we give you praise. Amen
