Have you ever experienced the feeling of being with a loved one and realizing that you both spent several hours in each other’s company without speaking a single word?
How did you feel? Uncomfortable?
Probably not, right? After all, it is someone you love, for sure, you two are close to each other and you are feeling safe.
However, when going out with someone unfamiliar or with whom you do not feel at ease, silence can become tiring. You may even find yourself trying to engage in conversation simply for the sake of it, even if it means resorting to talking about trivial matters.
Picture these scenarios with your relationship with God. How are you with him? How are you reacting to his silence from time to time?
The more acquainted you become with God, the more comfortable you will be in his moments of silence. Rest assured that his quiet presence does not indicate unconcern or distance, but rather the beginning of wonderful plans for your good.
You’ll find many stories in the Bible that show how good the Lord is, even during the times when it may have seemed like He was being quiet.
But one great example of this is his silence during the crucifixion of Jesus.
God allowed it to happen, and he didn’t intervene.
Yes, Jesus died. But he appeared again in the time of resurrection.
And these events paved the way for our salvation. What a great God we have!
Quiet tongues do not necessarily mean quiet minds. Sometimes, the opposite is usually true.
So, what about you, are you feeling like God is silent right now?
May this serve as an encouragement to have faith that God’s love for you is unwavering, even in moments of silence, as it may indicate that he is preparing incredible blessings for you.
You only have to trust and commit to your relationship with him.
Isaiah 40:31 CSB
[31] but those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not become weary, they will walk and not faint.
Dear Lord, in moments of uncertainty, grant me the assurance that your apparent silence is a sign of greater blessings being prepared for me in your perfect timing. Thank you. In Jesus’ name, amen.
