How are you? Are you catching up with all the busyness of this present time? Are you struggling to juggle everything that’s on your plate?
Please, breathe and slow down.
This week, I was so caught up with all the things that I needed and wanted to do. I want them all to be done. I rushed from one activity to another but never felt a sense of accomplishment.
What happened? Was I too busy doing that I didn’t get to enjoy God’s gifts to me?
Perhaps I crammed too much into my schedule thinking it is what I should do.
But how would I know God’s will for my life when I wasn’t taking time to be in touch with my feelings? How could I be effective in serving him if I get too busy dealing with other things?
I bowed my head and uttered a silent prayer, asking God to slow me down and sustain me through. And guess what, he answered funnily and immediately. My body complained: sick and tired, maybe because it has been doing too much.
I went home, and in the silence, I am healing.
God’s voice is often a whisper, that’s when we know he is close to us. But to hear a whisper, we must be still and be silent.
Lord, when I am overwhelmed, make me still and let me know that You are my God. Amen.
