This is a personal testimony.
My writing in the past has consisted of messy and unorganized niches. I have been writing here and there without any mission or target audience. As I continually attend Sunday service and bible studies, I hear a constant reminder of this one great mission that we are supposed to be a part of.
Matthew 28:19-20
Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
As I claim to be a follower of Christ, I desire to be a part of that mission too. But I am aware that I don’t have the boldness yet to preach the gospel to the people face to face.
What can I do, Lord? With the talent that you give me, please allow me to use it to share your word and inspire others to become followers of Christ.
I believe God is the perfector of our faith. He has been working even with the things we have no idea about.
So God put me in the ministry where I was given the chance to do what I wanted to do but I feared to commit because of what I think I am not capable of.
Lord, You know I’ve never done anything quite like this before. Yes, I have been writing but You know that I struggle with consistency and dedication. I only do it whenever I feel like.
As the ministry demands, the Lord reminded me of the parable of the talents, as well as His commandment to go forth and preach the gospel to every creature. When I concentrated on those thoughts, I realized that He has given each of us at least one talent to be used for his glory. If we are afraid to use it, if we keep it hidden, we will not gain a thing. It will become corrupt and useless.
I believe God gifted me with knowledge and words. I may not be able to do it perfectly, and it may not be good enough for others but I know that as long as I am doing it to please God, nothing is too little for him.
Philippians 1:6 CSB
[6] I am sure of this, that he who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
I thank God that his word never fails to remind me of how his sustaining grace will carry me through.
Philippians 4:13 ERV
[13] Christ is the one who gives me the strength I need to do whatever I must do.
Even though there is still a long way to go, I will always remember that God does not ask us to do what He has not given us the ability to do. He asks only that we be faithful in yielding to His power to use the talent he has given us. In whatever way he provides, we are to tell others the good news.
Father, I thank you for your faithfulness. Help me to be faithful to you. And to use the talents you have given me for the expansion of your kingdom. In the name of Jesus, help me to become a doer of your word and a follower of your commands until he comes again. Amen.
