Choose to be in God’s Presence

Psalms 84:10 ICB‬‬
[10] One day in the courtyards of your Temple is better than a thousand days anywhere else. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the Temple of my God than live in the homes of the wicked.

The family of Korahites were responsible for everything that had to be done in connection with the order of worship, keepers of the doors of the Tent; their fathers had had the care of the tents of the Lord, being keepers of the doorway. (1 Chronicles 9:19)
Upon reading the beautiful proclamation of the Korahite that He would rather choose to be a doorkeeper in the Temple of God, I  was amazed at his heart.

Being a doorkeeper, you have to stand for long hours, day and night to keep watch of the Temple. Additionally, they are entrusted to also keep the storeroom and treasuries. This is not a prestigious job but there is a great responsibility on it because by being doorkeeper they should bear faithfulness, trustworthiness, and a deep devotion to God.

What a heavy work, right?  But the Korahite love doing it.

As He said in verse Psalms 84:11, for the Lord God is a sun and shield, the Lord bestows favor and honor. No good things he withholds from those whose walk is blameless.  Who doesn’t want to serve a God like that? We all want for sure.

God wants a relationship with each of us. Through the sacrifice of His Son Jesus, the veil was torn and we can serve and worship Him in Spirit and Truth.
Through Jesus, we don’t need to become a doorkeeper and stand day and night just to be near the presence of God for Jesus is the door ( ‭‭John 10:9-10 CSB‬‬ [9] I am the gate. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will come in and go out and find pasture. [10] A thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. I have come so that they may have life and have it in abundance.) that is always open for anyone to enter and they will be saved, and have freedom.

Jesus is the Way to the Father.

He is always inviting us to come to fellowship with Him.
Like the Korahite, we may also desire to be in his presence, to serve and worship Him at any cost. For He alone can give life and have it to the full.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, full of Grace and Mercy. We thank you for giving us your son Jesus for us to be forgiven and be reconciled to you. In Him we have life. Glory and Honor belong to you alone. In Jesus’ name. AMEN
