I was living before in a rented apartment. And it is our responsibility to take care and clean the house day by day. As a person who loves to see a clean house, I make sure that after I use the kitchen bathroom, or dining room, it is clean and organized. But living with other renters is difficult. Why? Because some don’t care so much about what I care about. At first, I was okay with it but it didn’t work for me in the long run. My faith was tested. I didn’t guard my heart which led me to complain and grumble towards them. I had a heavy burden. I prayed to the Lord to change my heart. That He will help me understand others’ weaknesses.
God’s thoughts and ways are higher than ours. His thoughts and ways are not like ours.
He answered my prayers in a way that I didn’t expect. He removed me from that uneasiness and sent me out to the place where I thought my fleshy desire would be satisfied but no.
He sent me to a place of discomfort. An environment where God wanted me to know his heart to those around me. A place where people need to know Him.
As he said this verse to me in Matthew 15:11 NIV
[11] What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, is what defiles them.
Jesus said that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body. But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, and these defile them. For sometimes, out of the heart come evil thoughts and these are what defile a person, while eating with unwashed hands does not defile them.
I struggled at first. But I thank the Lord for leading me to his word and changing my heart. To see beyond others’ weaknesses. And instead of complaining, I give compassion.
Lesson learned:
As a servant of the Lord, we should keep our hearts pure not just in season but all the more out of season. This means even in discomfort or times of inconvenience, we should give our minds, our hearts, our eyes, and our everything to the Lord.
In times of testing, let the Lord search our hearts. Ask the Holy Spirit to renew our minds through his Holy Word. Let us be compassionate in a way that they see Jesus in us.
Let us honor the Lord not only in our lips but also in our hearts by striving to live a godly life.
Amen ♡
