Where does your joy come from?
Philippians 3:1
Whatever happens, my dear brothers and sisters, 𝘳𝘦𝘫𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘰𝘳𝘥. I never get tired of telling you these things, and I do it 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘢𝘧𝘦𝘨𝘶𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘩.
Paul repeat it, rejoice in the Lord to safeguard your faith. The book of Philippians written by Paul is filled with a reminder to always be full of joy. He wrote this during the times that he was in prison. A very powerful encouragement from a person who is not in a favorable situation is to tell the church of God to be joyful.
Jesus also reminded to his disciples when they were sent and came back reporting all the success they had in ministry. He told them in Luke 10:20,
However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
Our joy should come from being part of God’s family. At the end of the day, it’s not about what we do but who we are in Christ that matters. Our relationship with God should be our greatest source of joy in this world. No matter what happens God is with us and in his presence we will forever be safe.
Prayer:
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen
