During one of our lifeline bible study / word sharing, we talked about the first fall of humans.
The fall of Adam and Eve!
We are familiar with the story about how the serpent tempted Eve to sin, wherein she, as well as Adam, fell for it.
It can be read in the book of Genesis chapter 3.
In this story, we can find 5 chronological events:
1. The temptation of the serpent.
2. The fall of Eve and Adam.
3. The interrogation of God.
4. The fear of the sinners.
5. The mercy and faithfulness of God.
These events are somehow relevant to our society these days.
Temptations are surrounding us every day.
》 Like the serpent, their sweet and flowery words are so tempting.
》And oftentimes, we fell for it.
》Then, we will be convicted for our actions. This is how God questions us concerning what we have done.
》And our answer will be fear. Fear that God may be mad at us and punish us with death.
》But instead of punishing us, he clothed us with his grace because God is merciful and faithful.
But we should know that God is just, so we will face consequences.
Like the consequence of the serpent:

of Eve:

and of Adam and their children are facing:

I hope and pray that we will try our best not to be a serpent in somebody’s life.
We should also try not to be an Eve to every Adam.
And not to be the Adam who wash hands and points a finger.
May we learn from their mistakes and be the one who fears and obeys God.
