Abram said to Lot, “Let’s not have fighting between us, between your shepherds and my shepherds. After all, we’re family. Look around. Isn’t there plenty of land out there? Let’s separate. If you go left, I’ll go right; if you go right, I’ll go left.” Genesis 13:8‭-‬9 MSG

When Abraham was called by God from the land of his comfort to a place unknown to him, God was with him and made him successful. He brought His family with him including his nephew Lot.

On their journey, a time came when the land could not support both their animals. So Abraham suggested to Lot that they separate ways to avoid quarrels between their herders. Abraham chooses plans for peace as Lot is His family and God has given him a promise of blessings in the land God will show Him. He gave Lot the chance to choose which way to go. Then Lot chooses for himself the best in His sight and Abraham is letting God choose the best for him.

Later in the story, we find that the choice of Lot is filled with people sinning greatly against the Lord while the land left to Abraham has become God’s promised land to Him and His descendants forever.

What an encouraging story of a Faith journey and trust in the one who promised and is faithful.

Whatever war wages around us or within us, He is the God who knows our hearts and prepares the best plans for our lives. Choose Peace and Let God choose for your best. There is power in surrender. Let him decide for you.
