1 Samuel 30:6 NIV
[6] David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the Lord his God.
David himself, a man after God’s own heart experienced brokenness, failures, and persecution. This great distress came not from his enemy but from his men, but from his friends that He considered family.
His relationship with the Lord gives David a strong foundation of his faith. He knows that God is true to His words.
So despite the pain and terror that he was facing, his troubled heart continued to seek the Lord’s favor and guidance which led Him to win the war.
You and I are also not exempt from trials and sorrows, as the Lord Jesus said in his words (John 16:33).

We may experience temporary distress and distraction but just like David, our relationship with the Lord gives us the confidence that we too can find strength and win the war as we continue to seek his guidance and act upon it.
Blessed day, church!
