James 2:18
But someone will say, ‘You have faith; I have deeds.’ Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.
Do you remember when you were in a group project and ended up doing all the tasks alone? No one from your group mates participated in making the project? They just wanted the benefits of having a grade out of the project without taking any responsibility that goes with it.
This happens as well in our relationship with God.
Sometimes, we want God to do everything in our lives, but we neglect to do something for God in return.
As a believer of Christ, we ought to have a genuine and saving faith in Him that would result in participating in the works for His kingdom.
It is meaningless to simply claim that we have faith in Christ.
If you truly believe in your faith, then that faith should result in action. The works you are doing for His kingdom are proof of the nature of your faith.
Saving faith will result in works, but take note: our good works do not save us.
We are only saved by the grace of God and faith in Jesus. Those who are saved will naturally demonstrate good works, and for those who did not, they failed to prove that they were saved.
Prayer:
Almighty God, the protector of our faith, may you continue to use us for your glory and good works.
In Jesus’ Name Amen
