Colossians 4:6
Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
During ancient times, salt was a highly valuable substance and served primarily as a preservative to keep the food from spoiling.
It can also be used as a form of currency during early times. Preserving is one of the most important and significant uses of salt, and it can also be used to enhance and change the flavor of whatever it is added to.
The same is true in our daily conversation with other people.
The word of a believer must preserve the message of Christ.
What we say to other people will add value and importance to every conversation. We speak in a manner that would uplift and encourage those people around us.
And also to persevere to learn the gift of pleasant and wise conversation so that we will be able to speak graciously to one another.
Always remember to season the lives of those around you and bring out the delightful taste of God’s goodness and mercy.
Prayer:
Lord God, help us to speak graciously to one another, and may our conversation always be seasoned with love.
In Jesus’ name, Amen!
