Simple and meaningful realization in everyday household chores.
Just as usual, a regular day at work doing simple household chores. Nothing special until I started to do the stack of dirty dishes.
Wondering why and how it could be so dirty. I started washing it by hand; strongly scrubbing the tough dirt part and at the same time slowly and gently holding it as it’s too fragile.
Suddenly, so many thoughts came running into my head; good and not so good thoughts.
While washing, I was already finding myself talking to God which led me to comparing myself to that stack of plates full of dirt that needs complete cleaning.
I uttered, “God this plate is just like me or your children. We need to be completely cleaned in order for us to be used for our very purpose”.
My realizations kept flowing like the water coming out from the faucet.
Some of these are the following:
We as humans or children of God are like that stack of plates full of unwanted dirt and stains. We need someone to completely cleanse us. However, the cleaning process isn’t easy. We need to undergo and endure the strong and hard scrubbing depending on how tough our dirts are. Yes! The process is indeed painful and sometimes it leaves us scratches but those scratches symbolize God’s stroke of love for us and assurance that we will turn out shining, spotless and worthy.
Another realization is that just like newly washed plates most of the time we put it in the drying rack to let the water drip and to completely get dry before putting it back in its proper places. We are designed to be like that as well. After God cleanses’ us, we are in our own drying rack which is our waiting time for Him until He finally uses us for our very real purpose and we will be able to please and worship Him.
In our day to day simple activity or task, may we find the wisdom and be sensitive enough to know and feel how God is talking to us. His ways are always definitely way different that’s what makes it amazing.
Psalms 51:7 NIV
Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
To God be all the glory!
