2024 has already started and the majority of us are already writing down “New Year’s Resolution”. People tend to establish in setting goals beginning of the year. But if you’re going to ask me, I want to begin this year with my 3 R’s.
1. RESTART
Looking back on the year 2023, it has been a great year of ups and downs, full of detours but God holds me so tight to finish the year gracefully and thanking him for instilling me a grateful heart as I welcome 2024. I want to RESTART meeting and knowing God again intimately through seeking and digging into his words daily.
This year, my goal is to spend more time with God, not just because I need something from him or I want my petitions to be answered but rather because GOD is the only one WHO DESERVES so much of our time. GOD even sacrificed his own son JESUS just to save us, Just for us to reconcile with him. Imagine that unconditional love towards us that no one can fathom.
That’s why we should not be wasting our time controlling things that only God can control. I’m thanking the Lord that each year also symbolizes to me a chance and opportunity to restart and present myself to him wholeheartedly.
2. REFOCUS.
Whenever we start something new, it requires FOCUS. Last year I was so occupied with my personal goals, that I forgot to acknowledge the will of the Lord. When God blessed me in answering my prayers, I became so proud that I missed focusing on consulting him with all my decisions.
However, I don’t have any regret because God gently disciplined me and visibly showed himself by rescuing me, and for me, that is something I can never trade for anything in this world. He never stops caring about me. He never gets tired of embracing who I am. He is so patient to wait for me until I will be worthy to meet him one day. This year I want to REFOCUS, to see the clearer picture of what God wants me to be.
3. RELIVE.
The year might have changed, but God is God and he will always be faithful to his promises. This year I want to Relive his goodness and faithfulness over my life. Not just last year but all throughout since I was born and gave me a chance to live. I will always remember and choose to declare him in every moment.
When you feel so downcast or you are in deep agony, going through something or whatever season you are in right now, take a moment to pause and close your eyes and RELIVE that moment when God rescued you, when God gave you so many chances, when God opened his arms to embrace you telling that He loves you so much.
[1] Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth! [2] Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before him, singing with joy. [3] Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture. [4] Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. [5] For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation.
Psalms 100:1-5
This year join me to RESTART, REFOCUS, and RELIVE God’s goodness and unconditional love towards us. _@mdr
